Chosen Song

Image
After looking at a variety of songs in the jazz/ soul genre, we have all agreed this is the final song. Straight forward lyrics give us an opportunity to create a possible performance or narrative music video. The song is 3:44 and we are planning to create a full video from start to finish. We are currently developing ideas deciding whether to chose a narrative or performance approach. I put a spell on you Because you're mine You better stop the things you do I tell ya I ain't lyin' I ain't lyin' You know I can't stand it You're runnin' around You know better daddy I can't stand it 'cause you put me down Oh no I put a spell on you Because you're mine You know I love you I love you I love you I love you anyhow And I don't care if you don't want me I'm yours right now I put a spell on you Because you're mine You know I can't stand it Your running around You know baby daddy I can't sta

Song Idea 1

Comments The lyrics for this song are very straightforward and therefore we feel we can create a good narrative music video with some creative elements. We will continue developing ideas for this song unless we think of something better however we feel this genre will work for us and we will most probably stick with it. "I'd Rather Go Blind" Something told me it was over When I saw you and her talking Something deep down in my soul said, 'Cry, girl.' When I saw you and that girl walkin' out Whoo, I would rather, I would rather go blind, boy, Than to see you walk away from me, child, no Whoo, so you see, I love you so much That I don't wanna watch you leave me, baby Most of all, I just don't, I just don't wanna be free, no Whoo, whoo, I was just, I was just, I was just Sitting here thinkin' of your kiss and your warm embrace, yeah When the reflection in the glass that I held to my lips now, baby, Revealed the tears that was on my face,

Chosen Genre

After a period of time discussing several ideas regarding music genre we have finally agreed that we will use a Jazz song for our project. We feel this idea is unique as no one else is doing a jazz video however we feel we can create something brilliant and achieve a high grade if we stay focussed. To find the song we want to use we have been researching jazz artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra.

Group difficulty

At the start of the school year i had planned to work on the music video project myself, creating a Rap/ Hip Hop music video, however due to a lack of school computers I am now working with the same group i worked with last year when we created a film opening. We are currently unsure of what genre we want to work with however we have narrowed it down between Jazz, HipHop and classical.

Chosen song and lyrics

As a group we have decided to use the song 'I put a spell on you' - Annie Lennox. I put a spell on you Because you're mine You better stop the things you do I tell ya I ain't lyin' I ain't lyin' You know I can't stand it You're runnin' around You know better daddy I can't stand it 'cause you put me down Oh no I put a spell on you Because you're mine You know I love you I love you I love you I love you anyhow And I don't care if you don't want me I'm yours right now I put a spell on you Because you're mine You know I can't stand it Your running around You know baby daddy I can't stand it 'Cause you put me down Ooo I put a spell on you Because you're mine Because you're mine Oh yeah

Music Video Idea 1

50 Cent - Big Rich Town The music video for Big Rich Town is set in New York and shows 50 Cent rapping on rooftops. In the video we also see snippets from the the TV show 'Power' directed by 50 Cent himself. The video has a lot of fast cuts and is quite high pace which is common in the rap genre as the music is often delivered at a past pace. There is a lot of lip syncing in the video which is something i am not keen on doing personally for the music video i have to make, therefore if i choose to do this song i will need to find an actor willing to learn the lyrics and then rap into a camera. Despite lip syncing not being neccasary i feel it is quite important in music videos, espicially rap/ R&B/ hiphop. Furthermore mainstream usually have very high budgets and it may not be possible to create a professional looking rap/ hiphop music video on a low budget.
